Foreign Currency Exchange

Foreign Currency Exchange is the simultaneous buying of one currency and selling of another. The Foreign Exchange market, also referred to as the "Forex" or "FX" market is where currencies of different countries are traded.  The foreign exchange market is the largest financial market in the world, with a daily average turnover of well over US$1 trillion--30 times larger than the combined volume of all U.S. equity markets.

Unlike other financial markets, the Forex market has no physical location and no central exchange. It operates through a global network of banks, corporations and individuals trading one currency for another. The lack of a physical exchange enables the Forex market to operate on a 24-hour basis, spanning from one zone to another in all the major financial centers. The forex market is basically a normal market with the dynamics of supply and demand. However, there are other factors such as inflation, the purchasing power of money and interest rates that play a major role in determining the rate at which two currencies are traded.

While the Forex markets are large and liquid, investing in these markets is not part of most investor's portfolios. Trading foreign currencies is a specialized investment skill that is practiced primarily by foreign exchange traders. A forex trader must study and understand daily foreign exchange rates. Foreign exchange rates are dynamic and can fluctuate minute to minute. With the development of technology and the Internet, the opportunity for someone interested in getting started as a foreign exchange currency trader is now quite affordably feasible but not any less risky. It is critical for a trader to have real-time forex rates and information 24/7. Forex trading online has grown rapidly as online foreign exchange rates and online forex tools have been made available. There are several training ( Forex-training.com ) seminars found online that teach foreign currency exchange trading.
